Arrive to Boat Quay House, located on the banks of the River Bonet and enjoy a 30 minute guided yoga, light breakfast followed by a guided canoe tour along the River Bonet with Grainne, enjoying a unique river meditation and then returning to Boat Quay House to a delicious lunch brimming with local flavours.
Begin your Serene Slow Adventure with a relaxing guided yoga session by Grainne. Notice breath-taking views of the river Bonet, the perfect backdrop to mindful movement. You might even catch a glimpse the resident Heron. As the flow of your yoga practice gently challenges you, you will be encouraged to take a moment to stretch, breathe and reconnect, allowing your whole self to be enveloped in nature.
As you complete your yoga practice notice how relaxed you are feeling. Time for a little nourishment, served on the patio of Boat Quay House indulge in light refreshments featuring fresh fruits, yoghurt, acai bowls, and smoothies before taking to the River Bonet by Canadian canoe. Energised and refreshed, you are invited to embark on a guided paddle along the River Bonet to Lough Gill. Along the way, Grainne shares stories from the river, watch out for the shipwreck, kingfishers and salmon that can be seen occasionally in the river.
Grainne highlights special heritage features along the way too, that perhaps only a local would know! Continue downstream paddling at your own pace until you reach the mouth of Lough Gill. Take a moment to truly appreciate the breath-taking scenery that presents itself so majestically. The outline of the “The Sleeping Giant” can be seen on the horizon where mountain meets sky.
Enjoy the unique experience of a guided floating meditation where the gentle sound of flowing water will guide you into a state of inner calmness and clarity and where the melodies of chirping birds and rustling leaves create the perfect soundtrack for inner peace and reflection. A comfort break allows you the chance to disembark from your canoe, stretch your legs and take a moment to appreciate this landscape so familiar to W B Yeats and his inspiration for one of his most famous works, The Isle of Inishfree.
As you embark on your return journey to Boat Quay House, mindfully paddling, notice the ripple of each stroke on the water and how even a gentle pace can progress your journey. Slow and steady!
